27.01.03 Arc, digital distorsions software.
'Arc' is a software made by the mysterious 'Meta.am', an artist who never disclosed his real identity, even if he periodically updates his site with electronic works both generative and generated. The program (only for Mac) dynamically distorts the images chosen by the user, be they static or part of a video. The result is an alteration of the perspective and the detail of the images themselves, subjected to dynamic dimensional adaptations and to layer masks able to cause artificial moires and temporary decay of the originary compactness of the shapes. Few parameters influence the mostly automatic elaboration, and perhaps this makes it more fascinating, leaving to the algorithm the task of distorting the chosen material using an important component of randomness.
