06.02.03 Maid in Cyberspace festival, cyberfeminist art.
From February 4th to 8th, in Montreal (Canada), will be held the sixth edition of the Maid In Cyberspace Festival, a woman's web art and electronic music exhibition. Organized by Studio XX, an organization which investigates the subject of the appropriation of technology by women, this event attempts to exhaustively cover the different strategies that women have used to leave their mark in the cyberspace and to make their realities accessible. With a subtitle like 'Active Agent / Radicale libre', this event will include the conferences: 'Women, Technologies and Social Action', 'Women and Computers' and 'Front End / Back End'. Further enriching the program there will also be a 'Free Radical Radio Camp', the online performance of Michelle Teran from Amsterdam, another online performance named 'The Real Show - Smartbodies' and several electronic music live shows by local bands.
