"You maintain the power/till you have firmly in your hand the remote control" These are the mantic words sung by a famous Italian presenter, that could have been inspiring the young germans (MiniMe and Mahajivana) that made the RFID Zapper, a device designed to contrast the synergic action of business/governmental institutions that still continue to make more invisible and effective the control systems over the fellows. The RFID Tag are memory devices equipped with an apparatus that can receive and transmit radio signals, advertised by the institutions as the next barcodes and blamed by privacy activists for actually being conceived as a control device. So far the radiofrequency system which RFID is based on can be maintained active even after the object's purchase, without the customer's awareness. The customer then would vehiculate, despite himself, thousands of informations, a golden resource for the lobbies that, cover commercial and control interests with the security concerns. Therefore RFID Zapper, DIY remote control that takes advantage of magnetic fields in order to letting the Tag being out of action. The device is then a weapon to defend our own freedom, a magic wand to gives the power to repossess and defend the free will on our own relationship in the name of privacy, a topic too often marginalized.
