The Face of Tomorrow, Mike Mike
20.01.06
The Face of Tomorrow.
The Face of Tomorrow is an open source project on a global scale, founded on a series of pictures taken by Mike Mike during his travels, where he researches the concept of race, place and identity, intended as an effect of the current contrast between localism and globalization, and trying to visualize the digitized metropolis. The project is developed on two levels. The first is about Mike's research on the individual perception of belonging to the rest of the world and the person's identity. The second one is about exploring the globalization's systems and how they can influence the individual space evolution. The metropolis' choice is random, as it is the choice of the persons that will be pictured (they are the first 100 that Mike persuade in being part of the project), and the only applied selection criterion is of separating the pictures basing on genre. Then the digital pictures are merged with morphing software technique, somehow relating to the Nancy Burson research in the eighties. When this process will be complete, it will generate a 'typical face'. And this will probably support the theory that the product of a multiple localism interaction, on a global scale, will lead to a somatic standardization in the metropolis in the next 200 years.
